ASSESSING THE FEASIBILITY OF A TRIBAL PUBLIC HEALTH INSTITUTE

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation contracted Red Star Innovations to conduct a feasibility study to understand the role a tribal public health institute could play in complementing existing tribal services and resources. As part of this project Red Star Innovations will establish a tribal public health advisory board to provide key recommendations and evaluate the feasibility and desirability of creating a tribal public health institute, and convene tribal roundtables throughout the country to seek ongoing input into the project.

This project, for the Administration for Children and Families (ACF), will provide a comprehensive evaluation of the design, implementation, and outcomes of five HPOG grants aimed at improving the strength and diversity of the tribal health professional workforce and addressing the significant disparities in health care access experienced by tribal communities.
